Has anyone else noticed how fast Aperture is with thumnails? I plug my camera in (D70) and within a blink of the eye everything is thumbnailed and ready for import

I keep hearing about Aperture? What sort of software is it? and most importantly, do I want it?

I've heard 'of' it, just not what it can do. It looks like it's going to be going against PhotoShop, especially with that price.
Thanks for the link. Looks slick!

Not to keep adding posts to a clearly duplicate thread, Aperture doesn't directly compete against Photoshop per-se, but more against Adobe Bridge, Adobe RAW Converter, Nikon Capture, iView MediaPro, etc.

Did this thread have to be given the same exact name as the big ongoing thread? This coulda -- shoulda, even -- gone in that thread.
