If I cmd-click on a search result in Safari (search initiated from Google site) so that the page opens in a new browser window, then the item appears in the Safari history as a google.com/url tracking link rather than the actual page title...

Is this a bug in Safari or Google or just a feature?

In Safari, go to Preferences and choose Tabs. Check the second box from top, When new tab opens... That should do it. So, if this is not the default, it's a buggy feature
