I had no clue such a thing even existed. Shows what I know...
Last night, my left elbow started pulsating with pain. Spent most of the night trying to remember if I had slammed it on something but I couldn't remember doing it. So I went to bed assuming it'd be gone in the morning.
Woke up today with it still in pain and motion further constricted. Now, it's red and swollen and hurts whether or not I'm moving it.
Looks like I'm calling the doc in the morning. Joy.

It is very common. Ice, rest and elevation and then head to the Doc...
They are little fluid filled sacks. I just smacked one on my hip last week during a soccer game...

HA! Funny how I'm just getting over it now. It's a pain in the ass.
And yeah, I have no idea how it happened. I was watching a movie

I imagine that being a FedEx driver, I'm gonna end up missing some work over this.
So what's involved as far as the doctor's visit? I was reading that sometimes a needle is used to suck the excess liquid out of the area.
Awesome...

It's been a month and 7 days now and it's just going away. It seems like every time it's just about to disappear I bump my elbow on something.
Ice pack + Advil.
EDIT: A needle's only necessary if the thing is as bit as a golf ball, or bigger. Mine never got that big.

Yes, I did.
My bursa (that's the spongy tissue surrounding major joints) had to be removed, although my bursitis (inflammation of the bursa) had different reasons -- a bike crash, I was breaking with my limbs.
I hope you'll get better soon!

I've had a lower back problem ever since I had that BMX wreck when I was younger. Someone's handbar end jabbed my lower back. The idiot really shouldn't have been allowed to race since the ends of his grips were torn off. (They had strict rules, to keep people safe...)
It was never a big deal till I turned 30. Now and then I have lower back problems. I hope it never becomes a REAL big problem.

Actually, it can be bursitis or GOUT. I had bursitis diagnosed many years ago and treated in my shoulder. It stays away as long as I exercise mildly. I have also had gout in my wrist, knee, and foot. It is diagnosed via a blood test for excess purines. It can be treated also. The best treatment is from an 1881 medical book that I found "Flint's Practice of Medicine" who recommended a South Seas Ocean Voyage. If you can get a doctor to prescribe it, it may be tax deductible.
