can I disable the blinking sleep LED?

Is there a way to disable the pulsing LED that blinks on and off under sleep mode other than physically disconnecting it? Is there a software hack can do this?

Not really. That is in the Open Firmware. You could patch the OF not to blink, but that's tricky territory and is best left alone.

Either put a sticker over it or physically disable it if it bothers you.
