I've been unable to get the uControl extension (1.3.2 on 17" PB OS X 10.2.5) to load at startup.

Error message says the extension is unsafe to load. Not too big of a problem, as I don't completely shut down/restart too often, but definitely an inconvenience.

Same problem here.

Try opening the file:
"/Library/StartupItems/uControl/safetoload"
in your text editor and changing the number inside to 0 (zero). Don't add a newline to the file either. Then restart and see what happens.

Also, make sure that the uControlHelper is still in your login items, thats a critical part of making sure that ucontrol's prefs are updated to the kext.
