Burning in iTunes?

I've only tried to burn from iTunes a couple of times, and always around 10 or so songs.

iTunes will tell me the size of my playlist in Megabytes, but thats for the .mp3 or .aac files.

How does iTunes handle disc space on the CD-R/RW? If I have too many songs, will it tell me how many need to be culled?

I'm used to Roxio's EZ CD Creator (and to a lesser extent Toast Titanium) and always get a graphical (as well as numerical) representation of space taken/remaining on a disc, but am not too familiar with iTunes.

I guess this question also relates to the rest of iLife - iMovie, iDVD, etc.

You make a playlist which you can then burn. If your playlist contains more songs than can be burned it does tell you.
However, it tells you when you insert the blank disk, which can be a cd or dvd, so it depends of the disk you put in.

Thanks.

Does it tell you how far you've gone over, of just that you've got too many files?

Say you have 20 songs in your playlist.
Say 12 can be burned. It then will say (and gray out) the last 8.
