email notification - help

it used to work a long time ago. for a while now, even though i select INSTANT email notification, i never get the email.
well to be accurate i'd say, 90% of the time i don't get any email notifications of replies. its driving me nuts 
can anyone please help?

in the options under user CP and for the thread. this is very strange! i jsut got a few email notifications today for a post that had several replies yesterday. luckily i am manually checking my posts, but thats very inconvenient.
hope you can help.

i checked with my server. for my other threads i got the email 3 hours late. but it was sent 3 hours late from macnn, not instantly!
also, for this thread, i'm not receiving any email notifications, even though i have selected it.

another instance just happened. here's what happened. someone replied to my post yesterday at 3:40PM PST. the email notification was sent today at 7:36 AM PST. please help.

I think you're reading too much into "Instant." It looks like it means "reports on each post when sees it, rather than accumulating messages for a day/week and e-mailing you a list."
Granted, it shouldn't take too long, but e-mail can be a fickle thing.

sorry for the confusion. i don't mean it to be instant at all. even 30 mins if fine at this point. however, i'm getting notifications several hours later, sometimes up to 24 hours.
and sometimes i don't even receive the replies.

Here is another solution: become a post whore, and you don't want / need email notification anymore
