Hello Everyone,

I'm a long time fan of Homepage and link many images off of my Homepage sites. Doesn't seem Homepage is going to be an option any longer and here's my issue. When I link images from Homepage I've always been able to open just that image in a browser Window to grab the image address so I could drop it in image brackets, doesn't appear I can do that any longer.

Anyone seeing an option to do this with the Gallery? Gallery doesn't show the image in the size it should be, it blows it up to fill the empty spaces. It's taken a 200x30 pixel image and blown it up to 1366x204 in the viewing window and I can no longer link to the image, rather is only allows me the option to download it.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hmmm... Maybe I'm jumping the gun here and Mobile Me is going to have a working Homepage option as well?

me.com will still have a homepage feature, it's just not ready yet.

check http://homepage.mac.com for more details.

Another option is to upload your images using iDisk and store them in the Web/Sites folder. You can then access this using http://web.me.com/<membername>/. However, because Apple doesn't allow directory listing, you'll need to specify the filename after (e.g. Web/Sites/pic001.jpg becomes http://web.me.com/<membername>/pic001.jpg).

Maybe, just maybe, Apple screwed up and doesn't get their act together.

There's supposed to be a .Me homepage but it doesn't seem to be up yet.

Ricky it's listed under the iDisk button in the first column. Of course it's not working yet...

The link I posted above used to redirect to a maintenance page that displayed an error message.

The message said that apple experienced issues during the migration from .mac to me.com and only the core-services are up and running now. They are working hard to bring up the web-applications (question is how they define that, web-apps or just the web-interface for the services?) as soon as possible.

Now the page just redirects to apple.com/mobileme again.

Yes. That's my situation too. No access to edit any Homepage sites or pages. Following the links I end up back at <http://www.me.com/idisk/> then when I click "go to Homepage i land at <http://www.apple.com/mobileme/migrating/>
Good luck Mac. Must be frustrating.

iDisk isn't an issue from .me... It's that Homepage is in limbo as they are "migrating" that service.

You can access everything from the idisk site. I go to me.com and it redirects.

Yes but you can't actually make changes to your old .Mac sites yet. Or at least I can't.

Ah, I see what you mean.

And to be honest, with all the other stuff Apple tried to shoehorn in this past week, I can wit a few more days for .mac/.me to work fine *but I will argue for credit for all this downtime.

[QUOTE=Randman;3691868]Ah, I see what you mean.

Thanks. I appreciate the links but both take me to that annoying "migrating" window: http://www.apple.com/mobileme/migrating/
I will forget about it for a few days. It is obviously a bigger problem than anyone has informed anyone about. SJ and Co. I will see you in a few days, I hope.

I can live with that if they give me enough time to move what I have over to .me. At their current "migration" rate it's not looking good though.

I am supposed to be using these applications, not searching for them day in and day out. Some of us don't want to be engineers. And when we are doing our jobs, using these tools which we have paid for, we do not consider ourselves handmaidens to "highflying-IT-'professional'-ingroup-hobbyists". There is real world out here where people are trying to do real jobs and where IT is considered a service industry. So they are going to kill off Homepage. You might say I should have known that. Well, no, there is no reason I should know that if I am doing what I ought to be doing each day... and I am. I think the "virtual" in this industry is, like the banks, suffering from its own kind of inflation. The politics of the industry will be more interesting to watch from. The market is skeptical, and I think that's a good thing!

Now I'm a little worried! I received an email from Apple MobileMe that said everything is back in order, yet I'm not able to create or update Homepage sites. Still brings me to the "migrating" page when I click on the Go To Homepage button.

You won't have to Randman... They're giving us an extra 30 day extension to our accounts.

Hi everybody
I am new on this forum so well hi you all.
I am alos very puzzled and worried about homepage since mobileme took over.
Like you the "homepage" button on my iDisk keeps sending me to the mobileme migrating page ...
This is really disturbing. I have been using homepage for 3 years and have put lots of time and efforts into it, I would certainly not appreciate to lose everything. I do hope they will do something about it. But I am growing pessimistic as time passes.

It's very odd, Apple has taken out the mention of 10/10/08, so no idea now.

Well crud! Homepage is working now but when I add new pics I can't open them in a web page and grab the address to link, it only wants to download them! Old pictures that were on Homepage before .me came along still open like I want them too. This is crazy... Homepage is really the only application that kept me coming back for all these years!

Thanks for calming me down for a second Randman!

I can't just click on them in the slideshow like before and they'd open in a new window with a nice easy address to grab. Right clicking and grabbing the "copy image location" gets me the link I want.

All is fine in the world again!
