What to do here. I have a specific problem with 10.6. I want to have multiple programs visible on the desktop at all times. However, lets say I load stickies and then I load Safari. Stickies will disappear leaving only Safari visible on the desktop. Is there a way to have both on the desktop visible at the same time?

Windows users are used to making every window span the whole screen. This is not the way you should work and Microsoft has only tried recently with Windows 7 to make things easier for people who think that a normal browser window doesn't need 1900x1200 pixels^2.
You should make Windows smaller, my browser windows measure `only' 800-900 pixels across. Then you should learn how to use Exposé effectively. I like to use it with hot corners instead of keyboard shortcuts. With 10.6, you can also use Spaces that give you multiple screens. You can bind applications to a certain Space or let others appear in all spaces (e. g. chat clients). I have two spaces and I use Exposé quite a bit.

Yeah, learn how to switch between windows and apps - use techniques like command-tab switching, Exposé and Spaces. And you do know about the Dock, right?

I've modified the thread title to make it a bit more descriptive.
