Assume running FCP or C4d from Universal Binaries... any clue how the new integrated graphics minis would handle stuff like FCP or C4d?

I do very simple stuff with both apps and my current mini 1.42 and 1GB ram does a fine enough job with it. It was even an ok enough MPEG-2 compressor for a single 1.42 chip.

I guess something like Motion (which I do not own or run) is out of the question? Or will it run, just with hobbled real time preview stuff?

Again, assume Universal Binaries, I would dread anything under Rosetta, I'm sure.

It almost seems like the Intel DualCore vs. single G4 would offset the video issue in general workflow situations.

ie I'm happy enough with my current Mac Mini, can I assume the integrated video is unfortunate, but not a deal killer? I'll never play any games on the mini.

C4d (if I'm recalling correctly that's the same thing Cinebench is based on) should run fine for simple stuff; the CPU rendering and software T&L scores are reasonable.

I'm not so sure about FCP, but if you have a lot of RAM and the projects are simple it should be do-able. GMA950 supports all of the Core Image/Video stuff that the 9200 doesn't.

Even though it's integrated it's still faster than the Radeon 9200. If you have enough memory (say, 1GB or more) then the new Mini will beat the old one hands down (assuming you're running Universal Binaries of course; Rosetta will make it an awful experience)
