lol soz guys a real noob question here coming from an ex-windows user, i dug up my copy of q3 and downloaded the 1.32 patch but it doesnt seem to be taking effect. I can go right through the installation and it says its successful but when i fire up the game its still 1.30. Is there something special i have to do with these patches (eg: put them somewhere - ive tried the root q3 directory and just the desktop) ..

if i remember correctly...
go to ftp://idsoftware.com/ and find the mac folder and d/l the 1.32 version and install it. then from your Q3A game disc (pc or mac) copy over the pak0.pk3 to your baseq3 folder of the newly installed Q3A folder. you are making a new game folder instead of updating an existing game. after you start the game up Q3 will generate another Q3 folder in your ~/Library/Application Support. this is where you put your autoexec.cfg and server configs and whatnot. this is where the demo and screenshot folders reside as well. btw, "~" is your home directory.
