Yea! a sweep of the chisox! yea! that'll show them for talking about the Twins and KC all season. Even though the fight is still on to who will win the division, I think the Twins are as good as set on winning this year's central division title. I've always like the cubs more than the chisox anyways...

Yeah, tonight's loss all but sealed the deal, especially since the twins play 7 of their remaining 9 games againnst the tigers. *Sigh* Too little, too late from my White Sox.

I hate you.

We had a horrible end of season schedule. The Yankees alone were going to hurt our chances of staying ahead and none of the teams were going to be easy to just roll over. We will still kill KC but your cushy lead and D-Troit virtually guarantee you winning.

And for the record the Cubs will still choke.

Ha, we will see at the end. The Sox still have a chance because we play the Royals and the Yankees which will not be a problem .

As a Great Yankee once said "It aint over til it's over" Detroit even though the suck can still beat any team on any day. So to get cliche again "Don't count your chickens before they're hatched." Though looking from this schedule it looks apparent that the twins will have it locked up soon.

Go Yankees!!!!!

You must be dreaming. The Sox are done for the season. They are 3.5 games behind. I'm going to win my bet with a co-worker. I bet a co-worker that the Cubs would have a better regular season record that the Sox.

The Cubs have a better chance than the Sox. The Cubs are only 1 game behind.

They last made it to the playoffs in 1998.

I think you mean the World Series, which they were last in in 1945 and last won in 1908.

I can't believe the Twins would want to move and lose that trick with the air conditioning!

... and just to keep everything nice and neat in this thread, the Cubs lost the 1945 World Series to Detroit.

Crosses fingers for a Cubs - Red Sox matchup in the World Series.

Not only have the pennant races been great this year, but the playoffs shape up to be exciting as well, with many rematches of some great series over the course of the season. It's a great year for baseball, and i just hope that the Sox can hold on.

No. NO! NO!

That's a sign of the apocolypse.

And if the Cubs won, the world would end immediately.

It better not be another Braves Yankees World Series. The Yankees seem to have the Braves Number. I think you are all wrong in the NL. I think it is going to be Pillies vs Giants in the NLCS.

Go Phils in the NL and Go Yankees in the AL.

GO TWINS!

I think the way it stands now, if the Red Sox win the wild card the Twins would play the Yankees in the first round. If the Mariners get in, then the Twins get a rematch with Oakland.

There is no trick. They've already done a study/research on this years ago, and the air conditioning in the dome has no effect on how the ball travels. Don't know why people are still saying this when it's already been proven wrong by science.

Yeah I'm sure that is the case the way the Mariners have been playing. I think it's going to be Oakland vs Boston and Minn vs Yankees in the first round in the AL.

Now it is over. The Sox were victims of an end of seasons slump and the hardest schedule out of any of the three contenders.

But that scenario above is not going to ever happen. The Twins haven't beaten the NNY at all this year. Even the Cubs were capable of holding off the Yankees at least once. You guys better pray the Twins pitching staff steps up in the postseason because a 0-7 record isn't very promising.
And even though everything is pretty much locked up in most of the league the Cubs have 4 more chances to blow their lead. I know half the world roots for these guys but in Chicago you'll find more transplants believing they have a chance than locals. Its a nice dream but they don't have what it takes to make it very much farther.

Sounds about right.

It's just possible the Yankees will play the Red Sox in the ALCS finals.

Oakland's pitching has taken a hit in the injury department lately. That's the difference.
