DEA Administrator Says Pot Prohibition Protects Dogs; Many Dead Dogs Would Disagree - Hit & Run : Reason.com
The head of the DEA testified one of the concerns we should have about legalizing pot is dogs may eat it and get sick.
We'll ignore that the same thing will happen with raisins, and that most dogs like raisins, unlike pot.
What shouldn't be ignored is it's standard operating procedure during a drug raid to just shoot any dogs on the premises. This includes the times when they go to the wrong address.
Where the **** do they find these people?

The human mind will do any gymnastics possible to reason with itself. As the 'dangers' of pot lose their grasp and acceptance becomes more widespread, the desperation becomes palpable.

If you want to know what the right-wing beef with government is, you've got it right here.
In a strange sense, I can't even blame this person. The system is designed to encourage this.
She basically employs thousands of people, not an insignificant portion likely being good friends* she cares about.
Their livelihood is directly correlated with how big she can make the problem seem. The bigger the problem, the bigger the budget she can ask for.
The flipside of this is it discourages her to solve the problem. A solved problem gets no budget.
*I'm not accusing her of only hiring friends, I'm saying you get close to the people you work with.

Perhaps they mean hot dogs. Pot prohibition protects hot dogs, and Doritos for that matter. Think of the Doritos before you vote to end prohibition.
