Hi everyone. I have a quick question - with the price reductions for the eMac, it's really looking like a sweet deal, and I'm considering getting one.

I currently have a 400MHz iMac DV (slot-loading) with 1GB of RAM in it - I'd really like to not have to buy RAM again.

Does anyone know if the eMac uses the same RAM as the slot-loading iMacs? I'd switch the RAM out of my iMac if that were the case. It looks possible - both have the same size RAM slots (I think) and a 100MHz system bus - so the PC100 RAM in my iMac should work, no?

TIA for any advice!

I also have an iMac 400 DV/SE & according to http://www.ramseeker.com they take the same I am not claiming to be tha eMac expert - just relaying what was easily/freely found at RamSeeker. Good luck with your new purchase.

go for it.
Both systems take the same RAM, pc100 spec.
If this post is in the Lounge forum, it is likely to be my own opinion, and not representative of the position of MacNN.com.

the emac uses PC133, but I can't imagine you doing any wrong by putting in PC100.

But if this ever changing world, in which we live in, makes you give in and cry, say "live and let die."
