Today was the Boney Eagle Car Show, an annual even put on by a local high school, where on averadge about a 1000 plus cars and trucks show up, mostly antique but some ricers (they were way off in the corner were they belong), anyway i snaged a ton of pics, and you can help yourself to them.
We got to the show around 8:30 and left at 1:30 my face is on freaking fire, my arms are fired to a crisp and the back of my neck is scorched.
But the documentation was trough and i took 177 pics, the majority were the muscle cars. I am sad to say out of the hundereds of cars there, we only saw one RX-7, although i did hear her fire it up, damn is that smooth, my repsect for the wankel just went up.
We also purused the british sports cars (my personal favorite) i have never seen so many MBGs, Austin Healys, TR6 even a XKE or two. Each one of them almost in emaculant condition, it really put our POS to shame, but hey its a fun little GOKart that only cost us 600.
There were also about 8 or 10 Cobras, (also one of my dream cars) i think almost all of them were kit cars but still damn are those things sweet [drool] 427 [/drool]
and i even snaged a pic or two of the SRT4 that they had, man i was expecting a little bigger tubo but hey i guess it gets the job done. as for the interior, damn does it look cramped in there, he might have had the seat up but still not much room
As for the pics there are way to many for me to host on my idisk so if you want to snag them hop on my Direct Connect Server (ip:24.198.199.12:2000) Search for "Boney Eagle", or i can set up a KDX server or a Hot Line server. I am at home and juan got about 40k/sec last night so thats not that bad. anyway i am beat, and need to sit in the bath tub filled with aloe.
Enjoy the pics.

Hope the burn heals quickly.
I am probably an idiot, but I am having problem accessing your pictures. I am probably missing something, but could you dumb-down the instructions to see them.
Thanks!

Speaking about beautiful....the Austin Healey,, most charming car ever (the red wine Porche Spider in the first photo looks great too).
They knew how to make cars those days...

I'm sorry, the correct retort for someone saying how cool corvettes are is as follows:
"Ha ha! Mid-life Crisis!"

Wow. I have never owned a car and am not even out of college yet -- not exactly a midlife crisis. Just a matter of taste.

Cool. I'm also not out of college yet, and I've owned 4 different cars, a 1968 Dodge Charger 383/4spd, a 1978 Mercury Marquis 4 dr brougham, a 1997 Dodge Neon SOHC coupe, and a 1992 Subaru SVX LSL, and I've worked on all of them. So seeing as how I know my **** and you don't, why don't you explain your taste to me.

I don't really need a car in the city where I go to school. I also think it might be better to put money into an education -- that is first on the list.
I don't give a **** how many cars you have had or worked on. This means you "know your ****" about cars in that you know how to work on their engines, etc.
I assume that you are being sarcastic in your request for me to explain my taste. "Taste" is highly subjective and could be a function of experience or purely a priori elements; nevertheless, it will vary from person to person.
In this way, I find it hard to believe that your knowledge of a cars engine makes your taste worth more than mine.
We have just seen in an earlier post that some think that a Neon looks stupid. Just because you do not hold the same opinion does not make their opinion invalid.
To each his own.
I think that the Vette looks great. End of story. Feel free to present an opposing opinion. Be mindful that others may have opinions that are different from your own.

I think that there was some Neon bashing going on. That was not me. I think that the new SRT-4 looks interesting (both outside and under the hood ).
Still even if I did bash your style I think we should all try to chill out. Its not fun when a nice thread about cars turns into an opinionated flame war.
By the same token we should try to chill when someone makes a mistake (i.e. when someone misspells "porsche"). We all make them just as you have made one with my comments.

Hey, you all need to treat the SRT-4 with a little more respect. I had a chance to talk with one of the engineers who worked on the powertrain for the thing. It's grossly underrated. Dodge says 215 hp at the crank. Really, it's putting out about 225 hp at the WHEELS, which is probably 270-280 hp at the crank. It's peppy. My only problem with it is that it's front-wheel drive, but otherwise it's a teriffic car for the money.

On the flip side.........
I happen to be a major Corvette fan, and I'm far from a midlife crisis. On the modern side, for 50 grand you can get a car which will run toe to toe with Porsches and Ferraris. In fact, the Z06 is one of the best performance values available. Oh yeah, it also gets great gas mileage. A very well-engineered car, if you ask me.
And the classic 'Vettes- oh boy. The styling is just brilliant. The lines on that car are still stunning 35 years later. The '69 Vette is the ultimate muscle car, in my opinion. And oh yeah, they were insanely powerful. The regular 427 made 435 hp and the L88 was making like 560 hp. How could you not go for that?

It is well engineered, and it's very successful. Very popular. Very exactly the reason I wouldn't want it. I like quirky weirder more uncommon cars. Vettes fall into the cookie cutter performance catergory for me, but I'm never going to diss a vettes performance, just purely because it's a vette.

Disagree completely. A 1968 Hemi Cuda or a 69 Hemi Dart would absolutely STOMP that vette. Any day, any time. In fact, those two cars still pretty much rule the strip when it comes to street cars.
- Rob
PS: As for styling, check out a 1970 Cuda convertable. >drool<

I'd bet for every Corvette on the road there are 10 Neons.

How many performance oriented neons do you see on the road? I lived in a world of modded civics, integras, and accords. And with the windshield banner, it was anything but cookie cutter.

I see a lot of base Neons around. Not many R/Ts around though. I am the only one in a 45 mile radius that has one.

Got a better idea: Count how many civics you see with ugly altezza taillights. Now count the performance neons you see. Exactly. The best part is most stock neons will ass rape most of those modded civics.

That's great. In the sport compact world, would you like to have a Honda Torque Impaired Civic and be like everyone else? Or would you like something different that's much faster, and handles much better?
