Each time you have to register to do something (such as read an article at the NY Times), make the account with the login and pass macnn/macnn - another site I frequent (which I won't mention because they are already having bandwidth problems) do the same thing and I frequently find an account already exists with the name of that site. So it is worthwhile! (the other site is a much smaller community than MacNN lounge). Bear in mind that we probably have quite similar browsing habits.

Here's hoping the idea takes off.

Good thinking

btw, could someone set up an Amazon.com MacNN account please? One click MacNN ordering would be really nice. Cheers!

think bigger picture... how many times a month are you asked to register to download something etc.? new Real player or Windows Media Player? lots of people here will get it (even though we hate them both) - wouldn't it be nice to not have to register each time? (examples pulled from the top of my head - they may not require registration but other things do).

Also, its not hard to register for nytimes, but its no harder to use macnn/macnn when you register. So there is no real point in NOT doing it, if you remember. Unless you want the email/customization etc. of course!
