The photo previewed in my digital camera and Apple Studio Display is very good but when I print it, it is much darker than the original. Anyone know how to fix? Thanks!

What program are you using to print from? People could be more helpful if they knew which program you used. For example, in Adobe Photoshop you can make printer adjustments in Print Preview (you need to click on the 'more options' box at the bottom of the window.

Yes, everyone is aware that you now own the best printer known to mankind. We are all truly happy for you, really. Now please explain how this sort of post is useful to anybody.

ddma,
Have you ever calibrated your monitor? You can't expect any sort of consistency between your screen and printer if you are not practicing proper color management. Color management begins with a profiled monitor.
You might want to check out some of these articles for more info.

that seemed a little spiteful. Second guessing your purchase perhaps?

OK now for you to explain it to you...

1) If your printer sucks no matter what setting on your computer is the results will be too dark, to blurry or wrong colours.

2) Paper makes a HUGE difference on any printer.

If you don't know what paper is here is an explanation for you:
"A material made of cellulose pulp, derived mainly from wood, rags, and certain grasses, processed into flexible sheets or rolls by deposit from an aqueous suspension, and used chiefly for writing, printing, drawing, wrapping, and covering walls."

Get it?

Ya I'm just drooling over that i950. What a neat little toy.

Brilliant. Come up with that yourself, or did the Force show you the way?

Understanding how to use it helps too.

You forgot one: wiping my a$$ with all your moronic posts. So I guess I'm replying to my earlier post... Your comments do have a use.
If your only suggestion is "buy a new one", then at least save it for a while until the grownups have tried a little trouble-shooting.

Good advice. You need to calibrate your monitor. Go to versiontracker and d/l a program called Supercal. You can have more than one calibration setting - one for general usage and one for printing photos. If you use Photoshop calibrate your printer also in Print preview. Using the two of them I can get prints on my HP printer that equal the quality of prints that I've printed from both Canon and Epson printers. And while the previous post about cheap ink and paper was a real wiener mobile I'd stick with the manufacturer's ink and paper. I don't particularly care for HP's glossy finish, they make an excellent semi-matte paper that's great (problem is very few places stock it). Hope this helps. I apologize for the brevity of my previous post but I was in a hurry this morning.

Funny thing is reviewers seem to agree with you:

"But we were disappointed by its grainy gray-scale images and foggy looking color graphics."
