I saw them last holiday season in a small theater and they were awesome! One of the most moving concerts I've seen in a long time. This year they're playing an arena near me! I guess last year was a big success for them. They even split the tour to east/west coast this time around.

This is a well deserved success for them. I don't think that they talk much about the history of TSO. It's been many years coming - it started out as an offshoot project from Savatage's "Dead Winter Dead" emotional concept album from 1995. The song "Christmas Eve" from that album made it on the first TSO CD. Jon Oliva had the idea to expand that to TSO. The drums, bass, guitar are all Savatage members. When I saw them last year, Alex Skolnick was a guest performer.

The only thing I know from them is the Christmas song "Carol of the Bells" that they did with Metallica
