Does anyone know why my CD drive ejects at start up on my G4/733 every time and stays ejected until I push it in? It's done this even through my upgrade to Panther.

its a long shot but I think if you hold down the mouse button when restarting it ejects the cd tray, now I'm not sure if it still does this, but maybe there is something leaning on your mouse or some loose connection somewhere . . . just a thought.

you should have done a search before posting, this has been replied more than once.
anyway, it's because you have a 3rd party mouse attached to a USB port.
cheers

I did a search, two in fact, and nothing was coming up so I figured I wasn't putting the right lingo in. Anyway, I am using a Kensington Turbo Mouse Pro trackball. Interesting.
