I got rid of my TV a while ago, but still want to play my Playstation 2. I have a dual 2 G5, and a 20" cinema display. How can I hook up my PS2 console to my G5 ? Is there an easy/inexpensive wa to do this?

Thanks

k

Use either the Alchemy or Televio PCI cards. Search this forum, there's a ton of threads about both devices.

yes, it is here (note that there is a G5 aimed model):

dont look for a Televio, they actually do the Alchemy software, no more the cards.

It will work incredibely nice in your G5.

I actually think you're out of luck. Those video cards have a small delay in encoding, so it would take a couple of seconds for the action button you pressed to show up on screen. It would not work with any fast based action. You might be in luck if all you want to play is chess or something like that, but that's doubtful.

NO delay with that pci card, I can play GAMECUBE titles with my B&W G3, so figure. USB devices are another story.

Agreed. PCI cards generally won't give you any lag at all, if any it would be too small to notice.

The same seems to be ALMOST true for DV streams, depending on your cam and how fast it actually transfers over firewire.

One cool side effect to having a TV card/box is you can record cool parts of games or take screencaps

Indeed, better idea, if you have a friend that...

- just rocks with a game you can not deal, let him/her play after do a scheduling recording, so you can learn the tips and tricks he/she does :-D

- totally sucks gaming, ha ha, can you imagine how funnyll have his/her skills recorded? :-D
