Well, I set up an ipod for a friends daughter on their ***dell***
the first formatting took 3 hours, and didn't work. the second time it did work, but the ipod language ended up in spanish, even though I selected US engleesh.

how do I fix this on a ***dell***?? I assume it needs to be reformated? will I then loose the downloaded music store tunes? Can I make a VD of them and re enter them, later?

or maybe she can learn el espanol, eh??

I think in the manual it tells you what to do to reset the iPod to English. These directions can be performed on the iPod itself so it shouldn't be platform specific. It says things like "click the 3rd option, click the 2nd option" etc. since you can't understand what you're reading. If you don't have the manual I can try to find mine.

From the manual:
-----------
1. Push Menu repeatedly until the main menu appears.

2. Select the fourth menu item (Settings).

3. Select the last menu item (Reset All Settings).

4. Select the second menu item (Reset) and select a language.
------------
It then goes on to say that this will reset all of your other custom menu settings.

Hope that solves it for you.

Since I know spanish, if all that doesn't work I'll tell you what the menu names are..

Goto the main menu and follow this menu order...

"Ajustes" (Settings) > "Idioma" (Language) > "English" (English)

There you go, hope that helped.
