Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone, like me, experince long startup times with Pixadex(the latest version) ? I have approx. 13000 icons and it takes Pixadex a good 1-2minutes to start. After the bouncing is over I get the spinning beachball of death for a good half a minute or so. And only then can I play around with the app.

I tried deleting the prefs file and moving my Pixadex library to another partition without any luck.

I'm just testing the waters to see if someone has found a solution. The Pixadex team has not.

I'm using Pixadex on a 1.8Ghz iMac G5 with 1GB RAM.

Happens to me sometimes (Pixadex 1.5.3 on a mac G4 dual 1GHZ and 768 MBram) having about 5000 icons. I made it a habit to close the app with just a small collection highlighted - don't know if that really helps though

13,000 icons?! Time to clean house man. Or at least use DockDetox.

That seemed to be the solution for me. I found that if Pixadex opens into the 'My Icons' section, it takes a much longer time compared to starting in a specific set.

I don't let Pixadex open in My Icons section. I have a Varous section that contain some 60 icons I often close down with that open and not My Icons. It kinda weird because I believe it started after i reached 10000 icons or near to that amount.

@Randman, when you're an icon-fanatic like me then it's hard to keep icons to a minimum. And the fact that when I actually delete icons they are still present in the My Icons section which I hate. There's a reason for the deletion.

Pixadex Preferences has a checkbox "Delete original icon".
