hi, i'm a new ibook user, when i turn my ibook on all my icon on the display screen are gone, how do i get them to show back up, someone help me please.

Which icons are you talking about? The ones in the Dock? Make sure the Dock is not hidden : Click on the Apple Menu->Dock->Turn Hiding Off

i'm talking about my display icon are gone when i power it up it come on but i dont see
anything no icon no nothing can you tell me how to get everthing to show back up

You mean Mac OS X doesn't even start? Do you see the gray screen with the Apple logo?

Try to Boot on the Mac OS X CD (insert the CD, and then press C when the computer starts), and repair the disk and permissions with disk utility. Disk utility can be launched through one of the menus of the Mac OS X installer, and see if this helps.
