Took a line drawing I made, took a pic of that, cleaned it up in photoshop, then added gradients, brakes, rims, and background. Wee!

Well geez, what'd you expect considering the car he's working with?
Decent enough effort though.

Want to make it better? In Photoshop, select the car in the Layers palette, go to Layers/Matting/Remove White Matte.
Be amazed.

There's some white fringies around your car. In the Layers menu, select Matting/Remove White Matte.

Glad there are so many people better than me. The weird part is everyone I've shown it to outside MacNN thinks it's badass... so either everyone here is just super incredible and talented, or they're just mostly assholes. Hrm... wonder what it could be...hrm.....

They're assholes. I always enjoy vector-like graphics
Now the criticism: the wheels look out of alignment with the whole car, and they look realistic while the whole car body looks toony. :barfie: The subjective part: This picture smells of car idolatry, negative points on that.

Some things I don't like... the background looks very whipped up and I feel that could be improved. The car looks fine other than the rims. Make them vector like the car. You are good at drawing, especially mechanical objects. You might want to try a vector program like illustrator, it would suit your style better.

I tried a rotational blur on the wheels, but you can't get it to blur in an oval direction, it's circular or nothing. Circuler blending on wheels that aren't from a 90 degree side angle looks goofy.

Heh. The background 'foliage' is a real picture I took while driving in a forest with the flash off and the shutter open for a bit.

Make the rips circular, blur them, then stretch them back into ovals.

The vanishing point seems to be different in different parts of the picture, and is too severe on the hood section of the car. It makes the car look wedge-shaped or lopsided at the front instead of normal. Nice idea though.

Okay, fine...here yo go:
The windows look like crap.
The rims don't match the vector-like look of the rest of the car.
The perspectives are all over the place.
The drop shadow is all wrong.
The shading is all over the place and wrong.
Happy now?

Disagree
No ****, I threw this together in 15 minutes.
The perspective on the car is fine. The road was hard to blend into the right perspective so I did it in sections.
The drop shadow took 15 seconds and I don't care if it isn't perfect.
The shading isn't that bad.
Also, F*CK YOU. This isn't a god damn piece of fine art, it's just supposed to look cool. Oh, and your website ****ing sucks ass.

It looks neat, but as others have said the shading and perspective are all wrong. But that shouldn't matter because this was a personal project, not something he's being paid for, or going into a museum. Some people are just asses.

seconded...this is whatever. if you like it then you shouldnt need to hear us say its good or bad, but if you ask our opinion i gotta agree, perspective is fine if the car is shaped like a square, and the shading does need help. but if youre into it, then who gives a crap what we think.

This is how it works (with any idea):
- You build up the guts to share an idea.
- You attract comments from the General Public. (good/bad)
- You stand back from your ownership of the idea, and weigh it as they do.
- You thank them for breaking boards over your head, and gather up what's left of your idea/art and go IMPROVE YOURSELF!!!
I have noticed a trend with you over the years, Cash.
I have said it before, and I'll say it again - You are doing better.
Don't be so frickin' sensitive...
It's your idea! It sucks! Cool! Fuel for next time!
This guy never smashes through the wall because he is focused on the bricks, not the other side.
