Inside Mac Games is reporting that Aspyr will publish Civ IV for the Mac, but I haven't found any actual press release, or seen any indication of a release date other than 2006. Has anyone read anything of interest about this? I'm looking forward to losing a significant portion of my freetime next year.

There's a thread on the civfanatics website about this, which Brad Oliver seems to chime in on occasionally. He was the main Mac programmer for the current Civ III program from Firaxis, and is currently working at Aspyr Media on the Civ III Complete and Civ IV ports. Here's some info that someone posted on that thread (which Brad chose not to contradict...)

Personally, I'm looking forward more to the Civ III Complete port. I think my 800 MHz G3 iBook is a little underpowered for Civ IV, and sadly, no funds exist to upgrade just for Civ IV!

A little underpowered? I've heard from someone that the 3D world in Civ 4 is laggy even on a 2Ghz PC.
