Awesome game made by some ex-blizzard staff (who worked on Diablo) - its very Diablo. It feels like Diablo 3 (eg: more of the same awesome Diablo genre) minus multiplayer.
All the nostalgia floods back. Runic Games even have the original Diablo audio composer, so yeah, the sound is great.
It's also avaliable for sale on Steam (windows only presently - Mac version Q1 2010) at a bargain $20. Buy it. I think these guys are going to do great things in the future. I don't think this is their amazing -- their world of wacraft -- as it were. I think this is their proof that they can make a great game that people buy.
Apparently they wanted to make Torchlight an MMORPG, but ran out of money and released singleplayer only - there's all the Blizzard vibe: the polish, the humour, its generally great. For the sake of $20 its worth supporting some dudes who probably left very cushy roles at Blizzard to do their own stuff (oh dear lord i'm biased because i'm an entrepreneur making a video game)
