I don't think you will be able to do a system install with that CD. Apple has made sure that you will need a OS installer disc that was created/sold specifically for *any* computer and not the hardware specific disc packaged with your iMac. I see this kind of thing happen on eBay where a OS OEM disc is sold and the person buying it finds out it won't work on his/her system because it's the wrong hardware configuration.

That's true, the simple answer is: You can't. The systems delivered with a Mac aren't installable on other Macs. One reason is that there was some adaption needed for a new Mac which wasn't build in into the 'general' version, another is surely that Apple wants to sell a copy from time to time
