I can't seem to collect my mail and I suspect Virgin.net/NTL's router has the wrong IP.

Can someone 'ping mail.mac.com' from the Terminal and post the IP address? (preferably someone in the UK, but it doesn't have to be).

Mine gives me 204.179.120.64 but I'm not getting anything back from it (not even 'Destination Unreachable'.

ping and nslookup give the same adress you gave.
I can receive Email on mail.mac.com
Try to in a Terminal:

[localhost:~] rchytil% telnet mail.mac.com 143

you should get :

Trying 204.179.120.64...
Connected to mail.mac.com.
Escape character is '^]'.
* OK Netscape Messaging Multiplexor ready

a server can ignore ping (ICMP) packets.

Thanks for checking. When I Telnet I get 'Unable to connect to remote host: Operation timed out' so it must be getting lost somewhere. I'll contact Virgin.net about it.
