My sys: Quicksilver 733 with 384 RAM.

Why won't my AIM Beta or Fire work under OS X (I have 4R14 factory installed). AIM logs on to the network, but will quit if you attempt to IM or gather user info. Fire starts up for the first time, brings up the setup dialog... but after you imput settings (I put in my AIM info) the program typically quits back to the finder. How can I fix this? It sucks... for now I have to use AIM through classic. Please help!
