MobileMe is available on Amazon for $45.07 as of now. The price has been bouncing all over the place this week.

While listed as "Old Version", it is no different than the new box. There is a code inside the box that can be entered on mac.com for a full year of MobileMe service -- new or renewal.

Just follow these steps...

1) Go to www.me.com/activate.
2) Type in the code provided in the box.
3) Click radio button "Apply to an existing account" for a renewal or "Create new account" to make a new account.
4) Click Submit

The [Old Version] text simply refers to an old copy of the information pamphlet inside.

I wonder what's coming next. It seems like Apple is planning a move.

I dumped MobileMe a few months ago after having dotmac and MM for many years. I just never used any of the benefits.

This is in no way indicative of a move on Apple's part, look at the price tracker. I've gotten a year for $33 before.

Not by itself, but in combination with free "Find My Mac", and people seeing Unexpected Free Membership Extension, I think something is coming up.

Oh that membership extension is quite interesting (although I've purchased mine up until 2013).

Is there any conceivable way the original post in this thread could NOT be considered spam?

I thought about it, but decided that there wasn't enough evidence.
