If you make asinine statements to a general audience, expect a reply.

Do you really remember what you post or are you already too senile???

Yes, I know, and after I brought it up, you said something about a fist fight, so WHAT DO YOU WANT TO TELL ME??????

Yes?? So???? Do I have to ask you in the future if I can post my opinion here? Where's your problem?
I can now only guess that you felt attacked by my opinion that carrying a knife for self defense is stupid because you carry one yourself for self defense even though you never said so before I posted. Well, if true, that's your own problem then!
Over and out

No, the best defense is my Sig P229. If someone comes at me with a knife, they're going to die.
and yeah, I do carry a pocket knife, for cutting straps, apples, and such.

I don't think your Sig P229 would do me much good, as you're quite a few states away.

Well, buy your own then. Geez, I'm tired of having to hold your hand with this kind of thing.

Probably because I've mentioned it 4-5x on this forum over the years. TBT, my left is my dominant, but I'm capable of doing most things effectively with either.

No, I didn't remember jack in this case. It just the typical atypical answer I would expect you would give.

Swiss Card! I got one of those for my mom years ago! She said it was one of her favorite presents. I wonder if she still has it.

I carry an iPhone.
I have a knife app, gun app, and light saber app.
However, I find the flashlight app the most useful.

Yep. I have a lot of them. I wear different knives for different occasions.
Design events:
Compact, stylish, unobtrusive, clip to pocket
Out on the town:
Vest pocket or inner pocket on sportcoat, rarely use it. Classy though.
Trusty Standby:
Small, thin, and very satisfying to squeeze a little bit when closed. Clicky clicky clicky. Had this one forever.
Standby replacement:
Everything great about the knife above, slightly thicker, bigger. Cool handle.
I use them all the time for all sorts of things. People who have an aversions to knives are a bunch of pansy dancing nancies. You can use them to cut boxes, paper, fabric, all sorts of things.
Oh.. and the OP, FYI, concealed carry just passed in my state, but you NEED A PERMIT TO CARRY A F*CKING KNIFE NOW. Dumb, but true. Check your laws before you carry one, and know the consequences.

What if you don't have the option to leave? Again, you're making absolute statements, and the world isn't absolute; it's shades of grey. Just because you haven't experienced something doesn't mean others haven't, or might not. That's the point, which I'm sure you'll miss, because everything that doesn't fit your compartmentalized little world is "stupid."
I pulled a knife on a guy once. He was over 250lbs, and raging drunk. He shoved me down on the ground in my front yard, and I asked him to leave. He came at me again so I pulled it out to defend myself. Dude was insane. He was also a friend of a friend of a friend, and when I realized what the situation was... I don't know. It's weird. On one hand, I think it's okay to defend yourself, and dude was definitely OOC, but at the same time i don't want to stab someone that friends are friends with. Lesson learned: If you pull it, be prepared to stab someone. Do not just pull it for "defense".

I didn't realize this would prove to be such a popular thread! Cool.
FWIW, I made a choice. Here's my new/current Every Day Carry knife. I may pick up the spring assisted version next. It's nice that decent quality knives are cheap.
Next up, got to get my guns serviced and make some choices about what to buy and sell on that front.

When did this thread move on to sex toys? Carrying that may be legal in public but surely not using it? If not illegal, its going to get you some very funny looks…
