Its just one of those tendencies I've noticed from the forum. They seem to elicit some controversy.

I loved the video for Paranoid Android. I'd go see them live if they ever came somewhere close.

I saw them on stage after Beck at the Bonnaroo festival in June. I had no previous experience with radiohead before, but when I saw them live they were putting the audience to sleep. If it weren't for the flashing lights, lsd, mdma, and the fact that the girl behind me was running her fingers through my hair and telling me how pretty it was, I might have left to do something else.
It was just too soft and sleepy for me. I kept waiting for the music to pick up, but it never did.

In my opinion, all those were bad covers of Radiohead.
But that could just be me.
In other news, OK Computer definitely makes my top-5.

I can't even follow discussions about Radiohead. Their music is an incomprehensible mess.
Sort of like the old Grateful Dead joke: "What did the deadhead say when he ran out of pot? Man, this music sucks." Ditto for Radiohead.

Have you ever listened to OK Computer?
I have trouble how people can think an album like that sucks. Of course, I don't know your taste in music, sooooo....

I go back and forth between OK Computer and The Bends being my favorite. both are amazing. Kid A is also really great, but for me it's never quite been on the same level.

Yeah, I agree. I think the songwriting is more or less even on both, although OK travels slightly more into the meandering path.
I think the difference is in the album as a whole (not just the individual songs on that album), and in its...I don't know, maybe social context? OK Computer "flows" extremely well, and has a very consistent atmosphere throughout – which is slightly creepy, paranoid, and dystopian. I find in these areas it tends to trump The Bends.
Their albums since then have certainly been good, but the consistency hasn't been there. Some songs are great, others don't seem to really "fit" or even "flow" well within the album. I personally tend to think that's the danger with such a creative, restless band...so it's hard to fault them.

Did any of you enjoy Thom Yorke's solo album - "The Eraser"? It heads further into electronic territory. I quite like it.
