I hear that ABC is going to create a sitcom based on the GEICO Caveman.
Although GEICO will not be an advertiser, they will get royalties since they own the copyright.

More like pick it up, threaten to cancel it, order more episodes, and then finally cancel it when it's at it's peak.

I was convinced when I watched Heroes that he was the dude who had the nuclear fusion abilities, but he (the Geico caveman dude) swears that is not him.

WTF? I wouldn't watch that if you paid me. Hell, I don't even watch the commercials. Can't stand them. Turn the channel everytime I see that crappy caveman commercial.

I definitely think it would be a silly television show ... but ... it has made Warren Buffett a VERY rich man ... Berkshire was up 24 percent last year on much of the strength of Geico ... so ... lots of people like (and switched) to Geico because of their cute gecko and cavemen commercials.
People wake up...

That commercial appeals to a LOT of people. Both of them actually make me sick and Geico is NOT the cheapest insurance company. I switched from them to Safeco and saved a TON of money ... it was about a $60/month drop in premiums.
Whatever it was made that company a TON of money.

Those commercials are some of the most dumb and stupid commercials on TV.

I can't think of any, but is this the first character from a commercial to get a show?
I get the feeling it isn't.

This is interesting. I feel the same way everytime I would hear one of those "Green Light" mortgage company radio commercials.
And I kid you not, I would turn off the radio for atleast an hour if not until the next day.

Hah... honestly, I don't think it'll go very far. The commercials are so-so, except for the one where their in the restaurant, and the one caveman orders chicken wtih mango salsa, and the other one doesnt have an appetite. That one amused me...
