Well you can bet we will get a flashback on why Tie is missing an eye.

I'm not so sure you need to hide it between asterices. I think after the trailer it was kind of obvious.

Lucy Lawless explicitly said they get it on, so that's a pretty safe bet.

Ripped out Kill Bill style. That would make for a nice scene.

I found this really cool site that shows the shooting locations. It is remarkable how they remove signs and give it a colour cast:

The room the pres found out she has cancer in you can also see the apartment where Caprica boomer lives in the background. It is also the same condo as Michael Keaton has in White noise. A condo in Vancouver I guess.

I betcha the people living in that building were pissed off. A movie scene was filmed in a townhouse in my complex. Everyone hated it - movie people disrupting everything. Now our board has officially banned filming in the units.

The filmed part of the Sentinel in my old office and all of the crew (and michael douglas) were very polite, understanding and curtious.

It's different at a workplace. You don't live there. (Or at least I hope you don't.)

The people filming at that townhouse were also polite and courteous, but it's still majorly irritating having a film crew carting stuff in and out at 6:30 am and blocking part of our laneways.

Ron Moore has updated his Battlestar Blog. It's generally worth reading, but for those with limited time, here are a few highlights.

BSG is currently filming Season 3, Episodes 10 & 11.
The Season 3 opening will be a two-hour episode.
Jane Espenson (Buffy, Firefly) will be writing an episode this season.
They are at least thinking about Season 4. Nothing concrete mentioned.

Episode titles revealed so far for Season 3:
1a____Occupation
1b____Precipice
2_____Exodus, Part 1
3_____Exodus, Part 2
4-7___(unknown)
8_____The Passage (ep number may be incorrect)
9_____(unknown)
10-11_(unknown, mid-season cliffhanger)
12-18_(unknown)
19____(unknown, Season 3 finale)

notes:
• 1a and 1b were originally planned as Eps 1 & 2, later combined into one long episode.
• 2 and 3 were originally planned as just "Exodus", a single regular-length episode.
• Total length of Season 3 is still 20 episode equivalents, because of the opening 2-hour ep.

Spoiler and/or discussion below. Highlight below to read:

• RM Blog: Her {Laura Roslin's} life on New Caprica will definitely influence her outlook on religion, indeed it will influence her role as president from now on.

This implies she will get the Presidency back. At the moment, Tom Zarek is Vice President. From the miniseries, you can get the full version of the Presidential Oath. Since the President swears to defend the sovereignty of the 12 Colonies with every fiber of his/her being, and Baltar surrendered without a shot being fired (or even being specifically asked to surrender), it looks to me like Baltar's surrender was legally a novel form of abdication. If the Oath is legally intended to be literal, then Tom Zarek has been the legal President since Balter tried to surrender. I'm sure Baltar doesn't see it that way.

Note that as far as I know, Roslin never resigned as Secretary of Education, and appears to have been performing those duties since losing the election. If no other ministers have been appointed, then she's right back in the line of succession. Maybe Mr. Zarek will need to have an "accident"?

Subnote: it's mentioned in the previous blog entry that Tom Zarek is the Vice President, and that he doesn't go along at all with the occupation.

Is it flash?

OK, it wasn't just that site. It was also YouTube. I reinstalled Flash, and now everything is OK.

But do all those sites even use Flash?

P.S. I'm not a fan of the Bamber fat suit, cuz it just looks like a fat suit.

Definitely a Flash issue. I had YouTube and Scifi.com playback problems on my MacBook 2.0 as well, until I reinstalled Flash. (I already had the latest Flash 9 r20 installed, but a reinstall fixed the problem.)

David Eick is full of himself

P.S. Anyone catch the Story So Far summary yet? I'm gonna watch it tonite.

Catch Up With the Battlestar Story

Watch a refresher before season three of Battlestar Galactica begins Friday, Oct. 6, at 9/8C. SCI FI is presenting a story-recap special called Battlestar Galactica: The Story So Far. The one-hour show is narrated by Laura Roslin (Mary McDonnell), the Secretary of Education turned President turned resistance leader on Cylon-occupied New Caprica. Learn about humanity's costly struggle to survive against its deadliest enemy.

The special will be broadcast as follows:

Date and Time Network
Monday, Aug. 28 Free On Demand via SCI FI's cable affiliates
Friday, Sept. 15, at Midnight/11C USA Network
Sunday, Sept. 17, at 7/6C Universal HD
Monday, Sept. 18, at 9AM/8C USA Network
Friday, Sept. 22, at 6/5C Sleuth
Friday, Sept. 22, at 8/7C Universal HD
Friday, Sept. 29, at 7/6C Bravo
Saturday, Sept. 30, at 11AM/10C Bravo
Saturday, Sept. 30, at 4/3C Universal HD
Friday, Oct. 6, at 7/6C SCI FI

Meanwhile, I've ordered BSG Season 2.5 - out Sept. 19. In Canada it's cheapest at Amazon.ca. Best Buy and Future Shop finally got it on their websites, but they both cost more than Amazon.

EDIT:

OK, I watched it. Of course, a lot of info is missing. You only can fit so much into 43 minutes.

Still, they did manage to pack a lot of stuff into it. For most of the BSG geeks here in this thread, it's not really necessary to watch this since there's no new info. However, it's useful for the casual viewer who needs a refresher on the Story So Far. It summarizes things quite nicely.

It's nice to see that we in Canada are getting the premiere on Oct. 7. No several week (or even several month) delay like we often get up here. I can take a 1 day delay.
