Yup, I guess even world-wide economic recessions have their advantages.

Yeah, the 4 handle on oil is pretty mindboggling compared to where we were in the summer. I'm surprised gold hasn't deflated further, but perhaps it's pointing to the underlying inflationary trend of world governments printing endless supplies of money.

Chicken stock is a commodity, and up until recently the price of such commodities has been dropping.

Also, it is well known that the fortunes only make sense when "in bed" is added to the fortune. Thus:

Just saw this on the web. The British Pound has dropped against the Euro to within 10% of parity.

Gold is clearly trading inverse to the USD.

The market seems to have (finally) picked up to the Fed's threat of printing money like there's no tomorrow.

Oil is $38.22 at 10:42 am (EDT). Amazing--never thought it would be below $75, ever, from the highs of last summer.

At the peak in the summer I also never thought we'd see sub-$70 barrel oil, let alone a three handle. I say enjoy it while it lasts.

The peak just this summer was $147.27. Just one quarter of that would be $36.82.

Right now, it's $36.38.
