I found the following <a href="http://images.lindows.com/gallery/install/shot6.jpg" target="_blank">image</a> at the <a href="http://www.lindows.com/lindows_products_screenshots.php?install=yes" target="_blank">Lindows screenshot gallery</a>:

<img src="http://www.gustavus.edu/~apeters4/lindowspic.gif" alt=" - " />

It's an Aqua button, isn't it?

I don't think it's copying Mac OS X at all!

It might be copying a bit of aqua but lots of things are doiing that these days.

I think that's the result of your web browser using an Aqua style checkbox, which it does in every web site with such a form. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Also, note the empty scroll bar track. Definitely a straight rip from Aqua.

This is not a Lindows OS thing. Rather it is a KDE/Konquer thing since the page renders in IE (under 9) and Mozilla as non-aqua buttons.

Looks like they took a screenshot of the page content in IE for OS X and then pasted it into a screenshot of a Linux browser's interface. Maybe Lindows' web people are too busy doing graphic & web design to mess with Linux themselves.

Amazing how companies can have so little proud and just use the tools that suit their needs best instead of only managing with whatever is available from themselves.

No one of you is smart enough to go to that page and look for yourself, uh?
For those who are handicapped and can't find the page themselves: Go <a href="http://www.lindows.com/lindows_home_insiders_signup.php" target="_blank">here</a>, then click on the "Sign me up!" button at the bottom (which you will recognise as a poor Aqua mockup) to get the page in question displayed in your browser. Depending on your browser you will see the check box either in Aqua, Platinum or something else.
Rickster's guess seems to be right.

And by the way...

There should be *no* Aqua elements at all in the form if you are viewing it from a PC -- which is exactly what's happenning here.

The only explanation I can come up with is what Rickster said about someone copying in a picture from Mac OS X.

*shrug* Oh well.

If you read the first part of my post you'll see that I gave Rickster right with his explanation. I do agree that Aqua elements are only (to be) generated by browsers using Mac OS X.
All I wanted with quoting your line then was to point out that OmniWeb isn't the only OS X browser using Aqua controls in the page layout.

Let's see who DOES NOT GET my original post more than anyone else and posts a bunch of crap about which BROWSERS have Aqua elements.

K, go! Oh, wait...we already did that.

Oh... to answer your original question: "Yes, it is an Aqua button" (checkbox would be more accurate).

But we all tried to figure out how it made its way there since we think that Lindows does not copy Mac OS X. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
