Reality is overrated.
Besides, "reality" is only what goes on inside your head. We've established that in the political forum.

I smoke fairly regularly. It's one of those things you won't understand until you do it. It's definitely a way to just relax and enjoy the moment.
You sit back, hang out, takes a few hits, and the jokes start coming. Someone says somethign ****ed up that everyone laughs at. Music is good. Everyone takes otu their guitars and jams. You play PS2 for hours on end.
Everything's interesting - you see everything in a new way..you appreciate things more. You get more philosophical. You think about things that matter..you realize what matters.
Good times
BTW, the people I smoke with are: a future business lawyer, a future mechanical engineer, and myself...a future school psychologist. Don't think that "you won't go anywhere" thing is true.

I think there is a misconception about dope smoking. It is not a cool thing to do every day. People don't brag about being alcoholics, yet somehow they think that smoking dope everyday is great and to be recommended.
Unless you are smoking sh*t weed, then smoking everyday is a very bad idea, and will most certainly not make you happier. It demotivates you and you end up just wasting your life away.

Word. It's also much less fun. I smoke once or twice a month if that, and I have a blast every time. My good buddy is addicted and barely knows the meaning of the term "high."

Used to be a daily smoker (also used to be a dispatch rider in London, which might account for it), but nowadays it's just the occasional smoke with some friends, or if I want to listen to some music.
I enjoy getting stoned occasionally, much as I enjoy having a few drinks occasionally.
I love to just put on some cool tunes, smoke (or have a brownie and chill out. I can get lost for a couple of hours.
Unfortunately, it looks like I'm about to be moving to a country where that's not going to be possible (they don't sell alcohol in the country either, duty free will become my friend), so that little habit will have to wait for trips home.

I smoke regularly but I do recommend taking breaks every once in a while to lower tolerance. I'm surprised there are so many schmokers here.

Tried every single drug out there with the exception of heroin (thank god). These days I'm just a boring fart who only has a drink with friends on rare occaisions. Just couldn't really be bothered anymore.
I prefer sport more, now. Nature's own endorphines are much cheaper, and no one seems to get up tight about that addiction.

I haven't ever toked, unless you can somehow get a second-hand high. The two Radiohead concerts I've been to had the conspicuous smell of the wacky tabaccy about them before the show started.
Personally, I don't look down on people who use it occasionally. What I don't like is when someone lights up every day. As was pointed out, you're not entirely yourself when you use it. I don't like being unaware about (or unconcerned with) what's really going on. It's also something I would rather not spend my money on. Less money on weed means more money for my Mac, or a new car, or something else. It's the same reason that guarantees that I'll never start smoking cigarettes.

I hope you aren't smoking it with tobacco. If you are, then you really haven't given up smoking yet (although I am sure you have cut down considerably).
If you don't like smoking a pure joint (WHY WOULD YOU NOT LIKE IT?), then at least smoke a pipe, or even better cook with it. Once you give up smoking (tobacco) you should give up completely, else you don't lose the addiction.
Cooking with dope rocks (especially if you can get hold of the scissor/secateur scrapings from the harvest or some very good hash).

Indeed I am still smoking the tabacco filled kind. But I'm also moving more and more in the pipe direction. I'd move to Amsterdam simply to find quality herb in abundance as opposed to the miserable shake I find here (Paris). So hash is the way to go I'm afraid, and it can't fill up a joint all by itself.
Cooking's fine but it requires advances preparation and plenty of gear.
By killing cigs though I've cut down my tobacco intake by about 90%. And I will one day abandon all smokeable substances - it's getting tiresome all this hassle...

I think anything is ok if it has a purpose and done in moderation.
I don't abuse pot, but if I had a real upset stomach, I wouldn't be against taking a hit or to to calm it down.
It's the people who constantly abuse it daily, and smoke themselves stupid that really give it a bad name and ruin it for people who actually use it for a reason other than "getting baked"
IMHO of course.

big time.
i used to grow the stuff on my front windowsill. i got bored of looking after it all though, so i cut it all down and stored it in a jar in the kitchen cupboard. kinda looked like a big jar of fresh oregano or basil.
i made a huge pan of chili one time, for me and all the friends i lived with back then. got us totally high. my parents showed up later the next afternoon, as they were driving through the area.
"are either of you hungry?" i asked, with a smirk.
"ooh, go on then. is that chili in the pan?" says father. heh.
i went back to their house with them, and heated it up there. i wasn't going to let them drive home stoned. not only could that prove dangerous, but i wouldn't get to see the results. needless to say, it was funny. they just thought the wine they had with the meal was really strong. they got the munchies a few hours later too. total comedy. heh.

Have you seen the price of sports equipment lately? As a triathlete my little addiction costs me a small fortune, and I hate to think about the amount i've spent on running shoes when I used to compete seriously, or on climbing equipment over the years.
Agree on the endorphines, but it's a different sort of high.

Don't really like to that much, but occasionally it's not that bad. The first time I smoked in a while was last night, me and a friend wasted some time and then listened to November Rain a few times.
