We have a number of bat file threads already. They may be difficult to find given the forum's 4-character search minimum. Examine these threads and see if they help.

http://forums.macnn.com/82/applicati...files-mac-osx/
http://forums.macnn.com/82/applicati...en-bat-on-mac/
http://forums.macnn.com/82/applicati...-files-mac-os/
http://forums.macnn.com/82/applicati...-files-on-mac/

Shortly I am going to create a sticky for bat and put it in Alt OS Reference, since bat files are not OS X-specific.

As much as I hate the idea, but maybe a sticky would be in order...

OMG is right. I think the idea of a sticky deserves some merit since this is, oddly, one of the top FAQs on this forum lately.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

Sticky is up in Alt OS Reference. http://forums.macnn.com/109/alternat...-bat-batch-os/

Experienced members, please feel free to post something more consolidated if you like, or to correct my description of the problem.
