I'll be talking with Leo as a tv caller next week on his new show The Lab With Leo (spinoff from Call For Help).
Anyway, I thought that if he has fans here that maybe I could mention MacNN in a good way -that's if it's ok with admin.
Personally I don't know of anyone who promotes the Mac as much as Leo does. If you've watched Call For Help during the last few years you'll agree with me on that.
Anyway, just asking for a show of hands. : )
Note: The Lab will be airing its first episode April 23 on G4 Tech TV, throughout Canada and Australia. I'll be asking him what's the bottom line scoop about Macs and viruses and what are his recommendations, if any. I think I'll be on the 15th episode or something like that.

I am a fan of Laporte. I listen to TWiT every week.
Amber MacArthur is a major Apple promoter as well. And pretty easy on the eyes.

Any of you heard Kim Komando? I've heard her a little on radio and she seems to not like Macs at all. What's her problem?

She's an idiot, that's what. And not just when it comes to her opinion on macs. Nobody listens to her anyway.

I've been listening to MacBreak Weekly for the past few months. Good show. Leo and some others talk about Mac stuff for an hour. Merlin Mann (coolest name ever?) and Andy Inhatko (I remember reading his article on the back page of Macworld Magazine back in the day) are also on that show.

OK, I'm way late, but I love Leo! I used to TiVo the Screen Savers and Call for Help. I still follow MacBreak (and TWiT to a lesser extent). He has a tendency to talk over his guests, but he seems like such a nice guy that it doesn't bother me.

Since this initial thread I've since appeared on his new show The Lab With Leo. Check labwithleo.com . We spoke about Macs and viruses and he answered nicely (check episode #17).
But it's not the same as 'Call For Help' or 'Screen Savers'. New feel and ambiance overall. And Leo's Leo.. Often he cracks me up and sometimes he's just a little too geeky albeit in an entertaining way.
But most importantly, he doesn't try to sell or advertise the Mac as such, but he loves it and he makes that apparent. He tells it like it is.
Cheers.

It's good to hear that Leo has another show. The ScreenSavers and Call for Help were enjoyable shows to watch. I learned a lot through these shows and Leo was definitely one of the few Mac supporters. It's too bad most of the shows on G4 now a days seem to be made for 4 year olds.

Yes, I completely agree. I've always enjoyed her on Call for Help.

Glad to see Leo back on TV. I watched The Screen Savers nearly all the time when it was on, and haven't been impressed with G4TV since they dumped him. Hopefully they'll let him run the show as he wants, and let him be himself. That's enough to keep me tuned in.

I don't know why they don't have this show in the US considering The Screen Savers was pretty popular. I don't know about the other parts of the world but here in the US G4 tv has gone downhill. Before TechTV became G4 it had a lot of shows dedicated to technology and learning about how to use these technologies. Now a days I barely ever watch the channel anymore.

Last time I spoke to Leo was on the phone. I wasn't in the business. Just a listener/caller. Maybe 1987 - 1989. I remember talking to him about one of his fellow DJ's, Celeste Perry. This was when he was in S.F. on KNBR I think. You don't often have DJ's boasting an Ivy League degree who are really nice and sound like regular Joes.
As I'm not that much into tech stuff I don't follow his shows now. But he's a good guy!
