On a related topic, is there anyway not to use Quartz and instead use QuickDraw. Think of how fast this could speed up your system. No PDF-decoding all the time for your processor.

I just shut off my computer, put in some card paper to keep the battery from shifting, reset the power manager, and reset the PRAM. I don't know what did the trick, but it works now.
