Has anyone installed iOS 7 on the iPhone 5 and tried 3rd party apps yet?
Curious about the compatibility of Flixter, NBC News, Facebook, Sonos and many others

Well, considering that the beta has only been out for a day, there will likely be compatibility issues with third party software until the third parties update their software.
NOBODY should be using a BETA version of the operating system as their main "production" OS.
Now, once iOS 7 is released, THEN you have every right to complain if a third party app you use doesn't work.

Can someone with the iOS7 beta post a screenshot with a dark/black background? I just want to see what the icons look like with a darker background instead of the very light default one.
Thanks!

FaceBook seems to work ok. It did crash while playing a Youtube video but otherwise fine. FIFA 13 seems to work just fine (if not better). Haven't checked a lot else yet.

The above image shared appears to be a broken image, so here's a few:

It would be great if we can compile a list of Apps that work and don't work on this thread.
Anyone test:
1. The Weather Channel
2. Sonos
3. Flixster
4. NBC News
5. AppleInsider
6. Celeb News
7. TMZ
8. Fandango
9. Nest
10. Facebook
11. Control4
???

Because I prefer salted butter.
Why not? More testing means better products

A) Because it's completely pointless. This is not finished software. Something that doesn't work in this BETA may very well work in the release.
B) No developer has updated their apps for iOS 7 as it was just announced.
C) This BETA is not meant to be run on consumer iPhones as an every day OS - it is meant for developers.

eBay app crashes on mine. IMDB loads but crashes very easily, like when you try to click on an item you searched for. Words with Friends works fine, most Apple apps seem to be ok. The Remote app for example. I haven't gotten as far as logging in to the Kindle app but it seems to load ok.
I'm afraid I don't have a Sonos system or a Nest (they still haven't launched them for the UK, apparently they have to be different somehow) and I plain don't want to install any celebrity news apps in case someone sees them.

The combination of gradient backgrounds and flat backgrounds on the icons is driving me mad.
I really like the launcher themes you can use in Android, so all the app icons on your home screen have a unified look.

I'm not hiding. I'm just busy getting popcorn.
There's obviously no need for me to add a comment, since others have already done so.

Unless you're part of an actual beta problem, or running released software, you're not "testing" for anyone's benefit beyond your own entertainment.
Developers HATE unsolicited bug reports from unqualified users running pre-release software. They clutter inboxes with useless shit that wastes time and effort better spent on dealing with issues real users have on released versions of software.
Developers know which APIs have changed, and which changes apply to their software. Until they've taken care of issues that are obvious to them, this kind of inquiry or list does no one a favor, at all.

The latest iOS 7 DP3 has been vastly better for me than version 2. I had literally just finished downloading DP2 so I could restore my increasingly flaky phone when DP3 showed up on software update so the timing was good.
There has been a bug all along where sometimes you cannot select the contact name at the top of your list of recent calls and when you search through contacts there are one or two quirks. The only other issue is that occasionally there are some problems with the lock screen but they are mostly few and far between.
